Easy Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet

This one pan cheeseburger pasta is cheesy, hearty, and full of classic comfort food flavor. A simple skillet dinner that tastes like something grandma would have made.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 14.5 ounces petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 pound medium shells pasta
  • 32 ounces beef broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef with onion, garlic, and seasonings in a large skillet.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, pasta, and broth and bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and simmer until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in cheese until melted and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir pasta during cooking to prevent sticking
  • Let rest briefly before serving to thicken
  • Reheat leftovers with a splash of broth
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days
