Ingredients

  • 14 ounces ziti pasta
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated parmesan

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish. Cook the ziti until just al dente, then drain well.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, and ricotta until evenly combined.
  3. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top evenly with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Penne or rigatoni can be substituted for ziti.
  • Add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage for a heartier casserole.
  • Cottage cheese works well in place of ricotta.
  • Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
