Grandma's Easy Waldorf Salad

This original Waldorf salad is a creamy, old fashioned classic made with apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts. An easy and refreshing traditional salad perfect for holidays and gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (optional, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • teaspoon salt
  • 3 apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup thinly sliced celery
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup seedless grapes, halved

Method
 

  1. Toss apples with lemon juice in a large bowl.
  2. Add mayonnaise, sugar, salt, and pepper and mix gently.
  3. Fold in celery, walnuts, and grapes.
  4. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mix of apples for the best flavor
  • Adjust sweetness to taste
  • Best served fresh or within 1 to 2 days
