Old Fashioned Pineapple Dump Cake

This easy old fashioned pineapple dump cake is a classic vintage dessert made with cake mix, crushed pineapple, and butter. It’s quick to prepare and perfect for potlucks, holidays, or a simple family treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 20 ounce cans of crushed pineapple, and juice
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • Maraschino cherries and ice cream for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Pour the crushed pineapple with juice into the dish and spread evenly.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar over the pineapple, then evenly add the dry cake mix on top.
  4. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden on top.
  6. Serve warm with ice cream and a maraschino cherry on top.

Notes

  • Do not mix the layers for best texture
  • Add extra butter if dry spots appear
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat before serving
  • Great for potlucks, holidays, or easy weeknight desserts
